Although Feng Shui has just gained popularity in the western hemisphere, the east has been familiar with Feng Shui for centuries. Rooms all stand for different areas of your life, such as money, travel, friends and family, etc. We hardly have enough space here to go into detailed information about feng shui, but there are many good sites on the web that will tell you what each room in your house symbolizes, and how its placement affects you and all those who enter your home.

In addition to Feng Shui showing what each room is symbolic of, it also teaches about the placement of furniture, entrances, doors, windows, walkways and more. For example Feng Shui experts suggest that you do not have a walkway leading straight to your front door without any curves. Feng Shui Tradition says that a straight walkway allows evil spirits to literally come straight up the walk and into your home. A curved walkway however, will confuse an evil spirit. Which brings us to Feng Shui mirrors.

Feng Shui mirrors are the solution to MANY interior decorating situations that go against Feng Shui principles. Many problems that Feng Shui tradition lists, can be solved with a Feng Shui mirror. For instance, the example we mentioned when a walkway is not curved, can be solved by placing a mirror at the front entrance. Tradition says that this will confuse a spirit and make that spirit retreat. We recommend that you purchase a book on Feng Shui if you would like to redecorate your home using its principles.
