Eglomise Egg History:
Chinese egg painting, later to be called "Eglomise", seems to have originated around 772 B.C. with a Chinese chieftain giving out edible painted eggs as a way of celebrating Spring fertility festivals. This would eventually be done with blown glass eggs, as well. This was in the time period of Chinese history known as the "Spring and Autumn period", and was ruled by the Eastern Chou Dynasty.
